Multiple Inboxes

i am trying to see how i can filter new emails from 1 email address to be setup as a multiple inbox.  problem i see is that it is picking up older emails already labeled and moved OUT of the inbox. is there another way to accomplish this so i see just the new incoming emails from this 1 address in the seperate mailbox?

TIA

OK, but then couldn't Gmail filters using Labels work to separate email ... so that you could easily see email to one particular address?

Though I'm not sure that I understand the objective, perhaps Groups could help in distributing email to one address, to other mailboxes.

my goal is to list all new incoming emails from one email address to be listed as another inbox.  that way these emails dont get buried in the normal inbox.

Check out the "deliveredto" parts of https://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/5719/is-it-possible-to-create-a-gmail-filter-that-works-... -- perhaps that's what you're looking for?

thanks - i wanted to avoid using labels but this is a good idea.   i  wanted to just seperate out the new incoming emails from that one email address.  once its read, it will either be deleted or filed/labeled (and moved)

I use multiple inboxes, but I when I move an email from the inbox to a label it stays in the multiple inbox.  If I delete it from the multiple inbox it gets deleted from the label as well.
How do I remove it from the multiple inbox?

Thatโ€™s because labels arenโ€™t folders. Theyโ€™re just labels.

What you may want to do is use the Archive feature of Gmail.
Gmail Help: Archive or mute Gmail messages

Archiving is about 'visibility' in the Inbox, not moving email around as in old desktop email applications.  As Mark said, Gmail is about Labels and not Folders. (This is useful when email needs to have multiple Labels .. something not possible with Folders.)
