Need help customizing site domain

I am having issues customizing my site domain. The directions on customizing site domain does not tell me what page to do the actions to customize. Below are the instructions I found to assist me, but where do I navigate to? 

Set up a custom domain

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Custom domains.
  3. Click Start setup.
  4. Enter your domain.

If you are prompted to verify ownership, skip the remaining steps in this section and follow the instructions later in this page. Then try again.

Hello!

To map a new URL to a site in Google Sites, you just need to follow this instructions:

  1. In the Sites settings of your Admin console, click Custom URL.
  2. Click Add New Sites or Classic Sites depending on where the site is published
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Enter the current URL for the site. The format of the URL depends on how the site was created:
    • Created with new Sites—The URL will be sites.google.com/domain/sitename.
    • Created with classic Sites and migrated to new Sites—The URL will be sites.google.com/a/domain/sitename.
    • Created with classic Sites—The URL will be sites.google.com/a/domain/sitename.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Select a verified domain.
    Note: If you’re mapping from new Sites, only the domain hosting the site is available.
  7. Enter a custom URL for the site click Continue.
  8. Click Add Custom URL.
  9. (Optional) To update the CNAME record on your domain host’s website:
    1. Sign in to your domain host’s website.
    2. Go to the DNS management page.
    3. Find the CNAME settings and for the CNAME value or alias, enter your custom URL.
    4. For the CNAME destination, enter ghs.googlehosted.com.
    5. Save the changes.

Changes can take up to 24 hours but typically happen more quickly.
