Question about personal & group email accounts

Hi admins!

In our organization we have some personal email addresses, such as "george@domain.com", to which each user has exclusive access, and some other email addresses, such as "cs@domain.com", to which different users have access depending on the company's department. For example, all users from the customer service department have access to "cs@domain.com". Let's say it group email.

  • Is this possible to be set?
  • If so, then how will the system behave when a user opens the email. Will it appear to all users who have access as read or will it appear to each user as unread?
  • If a user replies or forwards an email, will this be seen by other users who have access or will it appear as unanswered?
  • If a user replies, the reply will be sent from his personal email account or from the group email? And all the thread will be visible from the other users that have access to the group email?

Thank you in advance!

There are two options for this:

Gmail delegated access: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/138350

Google Groups set to be a Collaborative Inbox: https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/167430

Both have their strengths and weaknesses, you might want to experiment with both to see which would be the best fit.

Thank you!
