Serious Domain Issues

I purchased my domain in 2022. Today, on my admin console, it shows that my domain is ACTIVE. Squarespace says that someone else owns my domain. I have been working with Squarespace for WEEKS and nothing has satisfied them that I in fact own my domain.

One of the problems is that I cannot find on Google my last renewal for my domain. The invoice is there, but there is no payment entered. However, on admin console it shows that my domain is ACTIVE.

I cannot build my logo or website because of this and I have had to put my private practice launch off because of this one issue. Does anyone have any suggestions. I cannot TALK to anyone on th phone with either Squarespace or Google. Thank you in advance!

@Sskoog Google Workspace from my experience just says things like "gmail activated" under the domain management (https://admin.google.com/ac/domains/manage).  It's not actually referring to the registration of the domain.  It does sound like you have had some billing hiccups and someone else might have registered the domain out from under you.

The information is sparse after GDPR went into effect but you can use something like GoDaddy's whois web page to look at the public info about a domain: https://www.godaddy.com/whois/results.aspx?itc=dlp_domain_whois&domain=

Look for things like whether the domain has expired, creation date, domain servers, registrar, etc. to see if it matches your expected information.

You might want to start looking at other domains to use instead and consider a reseller who can watch your domain for you.

HTH, KAM

Hello! Thank you soo much for answering. Here is the screw up I committed:

1. I purchased the domain skooghealing.com in November Of 2022.

2. In May of this year, 2024, not knowing what I was doing, I renewed my admin.google.com. In doing so, I decided that (PII Removed by Staff) was an arrogant email address so I just changed it right here in my admin console to (PII Removed by Staff).

3. I payed for the subscription and paid for the domain AGAIN. It was still available because Skoog is a very rare last name.

4. Just yesterday, I received an email from Google that was sent to my email, sskoog@skooghealing but was addressed to (PII Removed by Staff). Here is a screenshot.

So, do you see? I bought the domain in 2022 and then re-purchased it this year. But I have no way of proving that it is ME in a way that Squarespace finds acceptable.
