Storage is full for legacy G Suite account despite having 15+ Gb left

Hello,

I just started getting this message on all my google docs, despite still having ample space (see screenshots below).

Does anyone have any idea? This is a legacy G suite account used for family purposes only.

I would be very grateful for any pointers... I'd be happy to upgrade to a Workspace, but can't pay $100s/month for that.

Nico

I'm having the same problem, starting just today.

What is frustrating is that an upgrade to Google Workspace (AFAIU) means $72/user per year plus $170/user/year for ALL users for storage, including those who don't need additional storage. At that point, it's much more cost-efficient to switch to a gmail (share 2TB Google One storage for $100/y).

But of course, switching means a lot of work, plus losing a fair chunk of information (e.g. faces in photos, photo albums, starred photos, etc), my reviews, etc. Moreover, all photos uploaded before June 2022 don't count towards my current quota, so I'd essentially start at around 500 GB if I switch to a new account. It was great, but now google really locked us in. Not the kind of company ethics I was envisioning.

I do know from other threads here that Google is in the process of discontinuing the ability to just purchase extra storage for an individual account. See https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/Workspace-Q-A/Workspace-drive-storage/td-p/405995, for example. Perhaps this is somehow due to the work they're doing to discontinue that service?

(And please don't shoot the messenger--I don't work for Google, nor do I know why they've made the decision to discontinue this. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.)

Thanks icrew.

Google: I wish there were heads up about this. It's not okay to just not be able to edit documents one day.

Please let me know if this issue will be fixed. Otherwise it sounds like the reasonable resolution for us individual users is to move our files elsewhere, and/or keep under free storage limit (even if we're paying for additional storage).

Thank you icrew, I've definitely noticed that I did not have the option to purchase additional storage for a whole now (about a year?).

But google charged me in March for an additional 100GB, so why block me now?

This issue seems at least momentarily resolved for me. Anyone else?

Aha, it just resolved here as well (2 hours after you).

But this really gets me thinking about how much I depend on google, and I'm preparing a contingency plan.

Hi dear. You found solution ?

Help me please

Somebody found solution for that??
