Suddenly my Enterprise account is not so Unlimited...

I've been a longterm user of Google Drive for my business, originally having a G Suite Unlimited Storage Plan for myself and my team, then switching to an Enterprise Standard account when suddenly I was informed this plan won't be unlimited anymore.

Today I wake up to discover that my Enterprise standard plan, the plan which was sold to me with unlimited storage with above five users, has now been capped at 50TB total shared storage. The best part,  I currently have 130TB stored.

Google now wants me to either lose 70TB, or surprise surprise, pay ยฃ232.50 per month to get a grand total of an additional 10TB of storage.

I've had a phone call with the support desk who are going to "request" more storage for me this isn't guaranteed and certainly isn't a longterm solution.

This situation is entirely unacceptable, woefully unprofessional and proves to me that Google simply don't care about sticking to the terms of their subscriptions. Imagine telling a customer without warning, "Oh btw, you can't store 70TB of data that you've already paid to store with us anymore and until you do something about it your account won't be able to receive emails". Disgusting.

I have the exact same problem now and got the same answer as you did

I encountered an unexpected issue yesterday. I have been using Google Cloud with unlimited storage for over 7 years, and my current usage is 140T. I've transitioned from G Suite to Enterprise Standard with the accompanying price increase. My contract clearly states "unlimited storage." However, without any prior notice, my storage was reduced to 35T yesterday. I requested an expansion and was only granted up to 70T, which is still insufficient. Additionally, I was informed that I would need to wait another 90 days to request a further increase. What am I supposed to do in the meantime when my clients need their data? It's one thing for the company to change its policy, but suddenly revoking storage from long-term users is irresponsible. The company should at least provide enough storage up front and then introduce this so-called "90-day expansion rule." Moreover, my contract explicitly states "unlimited storage." How can a reputable international company justify this oversight in their actions? I demand a proper explanation and resolution for this matter.

Yep, it's totally unacceptable. Judging by Google's lack of a reply, it's also something they couldn't care less about.

I'm just working through this with Google who advised I can move up to next plan for unlimited storage. On more discussion, it seems I need to request storage which they have told me it will always be granted so I was thinking they are just trying to manage their storage capabilities which it understandable but if you are advising above they can reject the request then they will push me to a higher plan with no grant of the storage requirements (which I thought would be the case). There has to be some court cases happening with Google on this storage issue. Such bad form Google!

Anyone found any alternative storage option for large films that they don't need continual access?

keep in mind asking for more storage requires having at least 5 users, nothing to do with having Business or Enterprise

I'm in the situation. I have been a gsuite member for almost 20 years. My monthly fees started out in the $4 a month, then it went up to $6, then $12 and now $21 after all of this, now I'm being cap at 5Tb. This is unacceptable and now I'm looking for another service provider my self.

Agree that this is really poor management on Google's part. Capping someone way below their current storage is illogical, and also goes against both their previous promise of "unlimited storage" and their current one of "as much as you need".

Clearly you always need more than less than you already are using.

What they did is basically cap at users times 5TB (for Enterprise), regardless of how much space you were using. I was with Gsuite for a long time then switched to Enterprise after they moved, because I was told I must do that to keep my unlimited space. Talking with them and talking to the wall yields the same results.

Have you had any luck tho, requesting that increase?

Im currently on enterprise for a couple of months already and was able to get an increase automatically back in July. But now it didnt work.

I waited the 90 days and then made the request. I spoke with someone who was much more helpful than the customer service agents I've engaged with previously. They approved 5TB of additional space per user (currently 10 users).

Having already had to delete a huge amount of archived data, I'm now basically back to having the same amount of data storage available as I was storing before. It really has been a pointless exercise.

I recently moved to office 365. Am in the process of moving all of my services.

We've had to turn on quotas with our Enterprise plan.     At one time, we were telling all of our staff that we had "unlimited" storage because that's what Google told us so we asked them to do all of their storage in Drive instead of on our Windows file share.  Now, we have to tell staff that their storage is capped.  Staff members who remember back a few years ago are rightfully asking what happened and why the change.  Most people were not over the quota so that part was not really an issue but it was just the concept that something we had was taken away from us.  It doesn't look good for Google at all.
