Where are files stored physically?

Hello!

I was asked where the organization's files in Google Workspace would be stored physically and I don't know. Is it based on the organization's location? If you get Google Workspace in Europe, are they stored in Europe?

Thank you!

As a customer, you can select a data region. You have a choice of US or Europe. You need at least a Business Standard license or higher to be able to do it. The data region policy is set in your admin console. There are a few quirks to consider, and Enterprise licenses get a bit more flexibility than Business customers.

All information about it, considerations and how to configure it are outlined in this support article:

If you don't specify a data region as @cryptochrome described, then your content is geographically distributed across all regions for optimal performance and reliability. Unless you have a regulatory requirement to store data in a specific data region, you don't need to select one.
