Dear Workspace Forum,
This is a longshot but here goes anyway. It's a long story.
I had a custom domain and used the free google service to manage custom email addresses - this was way back in 2014.
The domain registrar of Australia decided that I was not entitled to the top level domain I was using and gave me almost no notice before cancelling my subscription to that domain in March 2014.
While I could no longer use the custom domain email addresses to send or receive email, my email data was stored on Gmail and I could access these emails so I just left them there and have been accessing them on infrequent but regular basis ever since.
I can still sign into the Google Workspace Admin Console using my administrator account. However only recently access to Gmail for each of the accounts under the custom domain has been lost. I can still log in to each account but Gmail, Photos, Drive, Maps, etc are no longer options available to those accounts.
I'm not exactly sure when access was lost but it was only within the past couple of months so I am wondering whether it is possible to recover the old data. I've searched high and low for an answer to no avail and Google obviously is of no help to me.
I did read something in Workspace Admin help about restoring a suspended subscription (Restore a suspended subscription - Google Workspace Admin Help), but the scenarios did not compare to my situation and I never really had a subscription in the first place. I wonder whether subscribing would bring back the emails for each account? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
@wfb This is a group of fellow admins so I don't think you will get much help here. This is pretty unique from my xp. Are you able to open a ticket or upgrade your workspace to a SKU with support?
