share button greyed out on non-Google documents

Hi! I have two users working from their personal (work) Google drive. When either of them open a non-Google document (ex, a pdf file) and try to share it, they can't because the share button is greyed out. Backing up into the folder where the pdf is stored, they are able to click on the ellipsis and click on Share from there. They previously were able to share straight from the document. Any insight as to why they can't share any longer directly from the pdf?

I have a user having the exact same problem.  Can share anything in her drive but when she goes to share a pdf or other non Google file the share otpion is greyed out.

We had one of our users experience the same issue - the Share button on a PDF doc on both shared and personal drives are greyed out. You can still share it if you dont open the doc and just right click and copy link. 

But now more and more of our users are starting to experience the same issue so it seems to be slowly spreading.

We're running into the "spreading" problem as well. My hope is to find a resolution soon; it's good to know there are workarounds in the meantime.
