Microgateway with API Key depends on internet?

Not applicable

We have tested the use of Microgateway in the company, we are using apikey validation to control internal accesses and better track the statistics of who uses the resources.

I have read in several community topics that Microgateway does not depend on the internet to work, but to validate apikey it calls an edgemicro-auth proxy, how does it validate apikey if it is without internet connection?

Microgateway synchronizes the access keys locally with the edge as do proxies that start with edgemicro? How does this validation work? Is there a reliance on the Internet or not?

Hello Marcelo,

API Key Verification does indeed depend on an internet connection (to access the edgemicro-auth proxy). However, once the key is downloaded (and is valid), MG caches the key. Cached keys won't require access to the internet. Please see this link for more details: https://community.apigee.com/questions/49267/edge-microgateway-oauth-plugin.html
