Action - External: Open a File (not working for all users)

I have a action to open saved PDFs from google drive (default storage location).  The pdfs were uploaded by the user and other users to view and download.   I have one user that recently is upable to view pdfs through the action. The action opens a new chrome tab but the file fails to load and it just says about:blank.  I have tested with other users for the same record and no issues. I've checked various setting within Chrome to see if there was a handler or site setting issue but nothing that I can find points me to why the pdf is not opening. We cleared browser cache, cookies and history and that didn't seem to help. I've also check some of the user's PC settings to see if there was some protocol for default files also not working.

Any ideas or solutions out there?

I actually figured it out and will marked as solved. The user needed to install the chrome adobe extension, for some reason. Everything I read made it seem like chrome will open pdf natively but not for this user. Maybe a conflict between having adobe acrobat installed.

Try a different browser. 
I recently had some sync problems on a single PC. All others were fine, this one had over 900 unsynced records. Changed browsers and we are back on track.

I actually remember that I also had the same issue with opening PDFs and did the same thing and it worked. Didn't find the problem but solved it 🙂

Can the user try from a different device? If it works, the problem is the device.
