I am having issues since yesterday early afternoon getting Page Unresponsive. Can make one or two changes and then get the message. Change computers, using Chrome in both and still getting the same message.

There could be many reasons for this message - data size, app implementation, connectivity issues, AppSheet issues etc. Bottom line...obviously there is something interfering with the web page on the machine updating.

Any recent app changes, large influx of data into the app or connectivity problems?

I thought it was just me, sometimes it's faster, sometimes slower. Now, it’s slow on every button click. I cleared cache and cookies, restarted my Mac, but no improvement. I have over 100 tables in my app, which worked fine all these years. No extensions in my chrome also.

same here, since yesterday afternoon we are seeing a behavior, my application sync is getting slow. my application connects to a postgress database in google cloud. I though it could be related a maintenance that google did on weekend. but.. not sure.

from mobile, when open application sometimes I receive message "Exception while reading from stream. Error Data table...xxx" not accesible.

Are you referring to the editor being slow on every button click, or did you mean interactions within the app?

Hi @Adam-google Interactions in the app are fine the issue is in the editor. The issue was there before but has now disappeared. I noticed this problem a couple of years ago and initially thought it was my laptop, so I upgraded my Mac from 8GB to 24GB RAM to fix memory-related crashes and unresponsiveness. After that I never saw this issue much unless its very large app. Although the issue occurred a few times recently at the time of this community post, it seems to be working fine now.

Looks like an editor tab that's frozen. By "can make one or two changes" do you mean changes in the editor to the app configuration, or data changes within the app / emulator?

I've noticed that ever since the editor auto preview feature has been introduced - you know... that thing where when I make a new change to a column or whatever and it's immediately reflected in the app editor? - if my app is large, if I have a large amount of data, or if the app is poorly designed, this can pose a serious strain on the system as the editor tries to update things to see the preview immediately. Sometimes this feature will cause the browser tab to freeze, just like the screenshot shown above.

Like if I create a new virtual column on a table that has many tens of thousands of records, that can usually cause the system to freeze. If the virtual column that I was creating was a very heavy formula, and I was doing that on a table with tons of records, it would very much cause the browser tab to freeze - sometimes it never comes back.

It would be kind of nice if there was a toggle to turn that thing off, so that the changes that I make aren't immediately reflected in the app editor anymore - just like it used to be. That way if I have a large app I can turn that feature off and have a bit more stability in the editor.

I will say though, that live preview thing is pretty amazing! 😍 There's just a few edge cases where it kind of gets in the way.

I had the same error yesterday and logged a support ticket. The help desk said it was due to the number of tables I have. But I disagree because it doesn't make sense that it was working fine before and then fine now. It froze and caused the chrome wait every time I tried to change a field from a text to enum (i.e a backend change to the app configuration). But also it just seemed problematic overall with config changes.

I speculated to the support team that the new functionality that asks if you want to make the change everywhere when you rename a field (I like that as an idea, it works well in Monday.com) was to blame.

I've added several fields of 'Temp 1' and Temp # fields to heaps of tables, so that new feature needs to make sure the backend feature can handle that (even though I don't select change everywhere) and not consider all Temp 1 fields equal.

I think it would be prudent of the AppSheet team to investigate the logs across the board for around Wed 30 Apr, 15:27 (New Zealand Time).

I have an app instance where one field is making this happen still, so you can replicate and debug it if you need to.

I mentioned you could take a look because it was 'being looked at' already.

I had to get it working, so in the interim I noticed the source table was saying it was lost (it shouldn't have been), so I reconnected it, that didn't fix it so I regenerated the schema a few times. Eventually it pulled through a bunch of field changes I'd been trying on in that tables config, but field changes from various and different attempts. Like it had cached it at points during the crashes.

After all those steps and a decent amount of time passing it finally allowed me to change the field. Whether that cooincided with a change rolling out from AppSheet in the background who knows (you guys, you should know)?

Hi guys, does anyone have a solution? My app used to work fine for months, now when i try to execute a grouped action the browser freezes (I tried Chrome, Edge, Opera on my PC) and everytime i get the Pages Unresponsive error:

do you think it might be a global problem? is there anything I can do to get over this error?
