Hello AppSheet Team and Community,
Iโm writing as a representative of a large organization in my country that relies heavily on AppSheet for internal digital workflows. While weโve appreciated the power and convenience of the platform over the past few years, weโve grown increasingly concerned with its recent reliability.
Throughout 2025 so far, weโve experienced multiple instances of server downtime โ some of which severely disrupted our operations. Whatโs been more worrying is the lack of official communication or updates via AppSheetโs community forum, Google Cloudโs status dashboard, or any social media channels during these outages.
This silence makes it difficult for organizations like ours to plan effectively or maintain confidence in the platform. We understand that no system is perfect, but transparency and proactive communication are essential, especially when it comes to enterprise-level usage.
Weโre now starting to question whether we should continue building our long-term infrastructure on AppSheet or look into alternative platforms that offer stronger support and clearer communication.
Iโm reaching out not to criticize, but to seek understanding.
Are there any plans to improve the platformโs stability and enhance communication with users moving forward?
Thank you for your time, and Iโd appreciate any insights from both the AppSheet team and fellow users who may share the same concerns.
Best regards,
TH Developer (Thailand)
I completely echo your sentiments.
I've been building on AppSheet since its early days in 2014. Itโs an incredible platform that has enabled me to build a successful business, helping hundreds of clients globally digitize and automate their operations.
Like you, I remember the earlier days when there were occasional challenges, but what made a big difference then was the transparency and engagement from the community and the AppSheet team. Even during outages, we felt connected and informed, which helped us work around issues and maintain confidence.
Today, while I truly appreciate the continuous improvements and innovations being made on the platform, the recent outages, combined with the noticeable silence during those times, have caused real concern. We have thousands of field staff who are directly impacted every time there's an unannounced disruption, and the lack of communication leaves us in a difficult position.
Weโre now having internal discussions about whether our long-term investments on AppSheet are sustainable under these conditions.
Iโd really appreciate hearing from the AppSheet team about their stance on platform stability and their plans for improving communication during critical incidents. Transparency is key for those of us relying on AppSheet at scale.
I agree with you guys.
I think Google should be grateful that Creators like you who have supported AppSheet to be widely used are calmly expressing their sense of urgency!
If Google members really want to improve communication with Creators, they should comment on this post and discuss it.
But I don't know if there will be such comments
They are planning a new dashboard.
That is grate, but I think it would be much more beneficial to communicate with users here now.
There are still ongoing reports of server outages today, including issues with slow app sync performance. Despite these persistent problems, there has been no communication or acknowledgement from the AppSheet team or staff.
We kindly request an update or any clarification regarding the situation, as it is affecting many users' ability to work efficiently.
Did you ever get a response to this?
No response or statement from the development team.
I am currently working with Appsheet at an enterprise level, where there are +2000 applications developed by users of the organization, the impact caused by these failures is terrible, the organization loses confidence in this tool, efforts should be directed to the infrastructure to allow the platform failures to be as minimal as possible, since we know that no system is perfect, but a level of service must be ensured, so that Appsheet remains the platform in which our "Citizen Developers" can continue creating and exploring.
I totally agree with the previous comments. I also use Appsheet for a good amount of automation and operations within my company, and the question is: what long-term vision do I have with Appsheet?
All the new features announced are fantastic, and in addition to active communication in case of failures, I ask myself every day:
- Will the graphic customization possibilities for us Appsheet developers ever reach a level of modernity adequate for today?
- Is the development team of the Appsheet platform adequate for the context? According to them, they are few and try to do their best, but will they ever be able to develop the thousands of basic requests entered into the community for years?
I appreciate their introduction of a minimum roadmap shared with the community, but it still seems little to me... I do not hide the fact that I always have a watchful and curious eye on every new lowcode alternative and it seems that the competition is not sleeping at all.
Today the server crashed again.
In VietNam, today down again ๐
I believe the team has probably seen this post already, but no one seems willing to share their thoughts or communicate with us. All we can do now is... wait. I'm starting to feel like maybe it's time for me to start stepping away from AppSheet.
Do you have a specific platform youโre considering to move to?
Google Apps Script + HTML UI (Bootstrap or Material Design)
I still need to use Google Apps Script as the main backend because my organization relies heavily on Google Workspace.

Totally agree with you, the way they handle support tickets and outage issues is unacceptable. Weโre considering moving to another platform as well.
I suppose that's what we get for thinking we would get a reliable service from some low-budget, backyard operation called (**checks notes**) Google.
Again and again and again and it will be like this every day.
Thank you for sharing your experience and concerns regarding AppSheet. I can truly relate to what you've described.
Iโm also someone who has introduced AppSheet into a mid-sized organization, and over time weโve expanded its use to cover nearly all of our internal operations, running it in parallel with our ERP system. However, like you, weโve recently begun to share the same concerns โ particularly around the platformโs reliability and lack of timely communication during outages.
If these issues persist, we worry that continued dependency on AppSheet might no longer be viable for our long-term plans. It could very well become a turning point for us to reevaluate and possibly consider alternative solutions.
To the AppSheet team: we respectfully urge you to prioritize transparent and timely communication. Even just clear updates or acknowledgments during service disruptions can go a long way in maintaining the trust of your global user base and partners.
