Editor UX columns auto reset bug

Columns are auto resetting when slice is changed. Each time need to reconfigure all the columns in views like detail/table. Its very difficult to reorder all those columns again and again for multiple tables with same configuration. Please Appsheet/Google team request you to test these updates before releasing. Once released it takes weeks for google to rollback or fix issues. Right now there is no point in having a 'copy' button in UX. Each time its like a new view and have to add all those columns and reorder.

Imagine for each slice with same column structure need to be rearranged for each of the slice instead of just copying. 10x time consuming and too hectic to do it.

I have contacted support regarding the bug and they told me to save the app before changing the slice. But still its not working.

Its been like this for years so its unlikely to be changed.  I strongly suggest against using Slice to reorder columns as it just makes the app so much harder to debug.  Instead reorder your speadsheet columns.

I don’t remember rearranging columns when i change a slice for all these years. Looked like a bug to me that started recently.

The column order used to stay same if slice is of same table. It was always Copy>Rename View> Switch to newly created slice and save

You can notice on some scenarios it works. Here is the recording below. It copies and column structure remains same even after changing its slice. So In my opinion it is a bug if its returning empty column order as mentioned above. @1minManager

Anyone from community thinking its a bug or intended behaviour ? Appsheet support doesn’t have a clue I guess. Its hindering productivity for repetitive tasks when I copy it.

I m not entirely sure what the answer will be to your question, but it is likely Google will never touch "legacy UX" for coming days, in light of the upcoming new "improved" editor UX.  Did you try and test with new UX (which I never touched and tested so far)

I just find it too exhausting to rearrange columns after copying a view and slice with same columns are being reset. I have views that are repetitive and its soo much time consuming. Something that takes just 5secs now I have to keep referring and rearranging columns.
