Entering text that ends in E4 or E3 recognized as scientific notation

I have some data (text) that ends in “E3” or “E5”. When it gets saved to google sheets, it gets converted to scientific notation.

Example: 0319191425E4 --> 3.19E12

Do I need to turn off automatic formatting every time I create a column in Google Sheets to handle this data, or is there a better way?
