Getting error or too long to sync the app if data source is excel

I made an app and swapped the data source to an identical excel sheet. The app is able to read that data but whenever a new entry is made it throws an error upon syncing or just takes too long to load. This happens only if the excel data is also open in another tab.
Anyone encounter this before?

This is pretty much native behavior when you use Excel online as data source for AppSheet. This is blamed for Excel not for AppSheet.
Once someone is open the excel online, the file is kind of “locked” so Appsheet is not allowed to access and read data from the file.
Always better and safe to stay with Google Spreadsheet, when you develop apps with AppSheet, instead of Excel.

For date type value, use TEXT expression to convert the date format to fixed one as you want.
But not sure how to fix number style… Sorry for little help
