Initial Value from Child table in form

Is it possible to have data from a child table within a form prepopulate an initial value in the parent table within the same form.  In other words, I would like to create a Billing Notes Wizard, as a child table, within the form of the parent table.  Then I would like that data to pull into and be the initial value of a different column of the parent table within the form.

The child rows have a Ref column that refers to the parent. Dereference that column value to access the parent column values.
