One of my users is getting "Invalid Sync Token" when he is trying to sync his records. I am using Google Sheets as my data source. I verified that he is running the latest version of the app.
Since he has 29 records to sync (representing almost 8 hours of work) I would _really_ like to get those records synced (and not have him uninstall/reinstall the app.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Hier ist ein Thread, in dem Lรถsungsvorschlรคge erwรคhnt werden --> Some-user-facing-error-quot-Invalid-Sync-Token
Yes, I saw that thread, but there was no solution mentioned that would preserve the 29 records. I would really like to not ask him to repeat a full day's worth of work.
Please file a support request and ask the support to escalate to the engineering team. Thanks.
Thanks, will do.
You can place the app in recovery mode to allow the sync to complete
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried switching to recovery mode and having the user sync again (he tried twice), but the records still did not go through.
For some reason, even though the version of the app matches the latest version I see, it is complaining about a table having the wrong number of column. So I am stumped.
I am today experiencing the "Invalid Sync Token" error that is preventing changes from going through
I, like @Scott_Nesbitt , have found that recovery mode doesn't work as well as Google Support seems to think it does. In the worst scenarios (column mismatch errors) the best we could do is capture the submitted changes and then have the user discard all changes, logout and back into the app to get updated and continue on. But then we are left with several files of unsubmitted changes with NO CLEAR WAY HOW TO RESUBMIT THEM.
Documentation just isn't that helpful.
AppSheet needs to focus some attention on this problem - errors that prevent changes App Edits from being submitted - and provide clear guidance on the different error levels and what we need to do to resolve them. When it occurs and impacts many users - it's a big problem.
NOTE: I think a bulk of these problem situations can be resolved if App Creators can apply some kind of forced Sync when the app definition changes. Trying to rely on communications to get the app users to Sync on their own just does not work!
Today one of our users also had the "Invalid Sync Token" Error. We set the App to Recovery Mode and he was able to sync the app. After that you should Return the App to normal mode.
I am glad recovery mode worked for you, but we tried that same thing and it did not work. Think there are a few glitches, still.
Faced the same problem here while building an app. The problem has an error inside the automation robot in an if clause without " " for a string. The robot did not raise any warning though.
Are yo using a database?
I recently had some communication with AppSheet about this very problem as our app seems to experience the "Invalid Sync Token" error whenever we push out changes.
Support came back with some steps about accessing AppSheet tables in the Editor and updating "access tokens" which made no sense in the context of the AppSheet Editor.
However, it did spark a thought which we will be trying out this weekend. We recently migrated to a BigQuery database. Some changes were made to tables after the initial migration prompting a "regeneration". However, I don't think ALL table went through a formal regeneration activity after the migration. AND I wonder if we MUST do that "regeneration" for the "access tokens" to properly refresh.
I will be trying that out and see if there are fewer occurrences of the error. I'll report back here but it may be a few days.
I'm using spreadsheets as datasource, the IF clause error was in a condition inside the automation robot steps
