Is it possible to store an image such as a signature directly in my spreadsheet rather than a sub folder?

I am working on a script that automatically extracts data from the spreadsheet and applies it to a google doc.

I cannot do this with signatures as they are stored as a path in my spreadsheet.

Is it possible to store them directly in the spreadsheet?
