Opening PDF documents offline in AppSheet

Hi everyone!

I developed an AppSheet application that allowed me to open PDF documents offline, without an internet connection. Until recently, everything was working perfectly. However, the feature suddenly stopped working. I’m not sure if this issue was caused by a platform update, a change in AppSheet behavior, or if it’s an internal problem within my app.

Does anyone know if there were any recent updates regarding how AppSheet handles files, offline access, or document links?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

There could be a few things that cause this.  First, I would check the security setting in the app that controls the ability of opening the PDF outside of AppSheet.  It needs to be turned off.  See the image below.

Beyond that you need to ensure the folder and PDF file are properly shared to whoever is trying to access them.

Thank you for your input! Before I saw your response, I managed to solve the issue using a different approach. I created a dedicated folder in Google Drive, set the sharing settings to generate shareable links, and connected the files to my AppSheet app through those shared links. This workaround allowed the PDFs to open again, even offline.
I will also try the method you suggested comparing both solutions and ensure I’m using the most efficient approach. Thanks for your help!
