Question about prototype and subscription

Hi,

I'm new to AppSheet and coding. Despite this, I managed to create a simple app from a Google Sheet. It's an interactive catalog of thousands of astronomical photos on a OneDrive server, along with some research logs. The app is still in prototype mode and has never been deployed. Currently, the app owner is the head of the observatories and a related educational non-profit company. I am listed as the creator. Right now, only the three of usโ€”me, the owner, and one colleagueโ€”use the app, but we have big plans for its future.

Initially, we were so excited about AppSheet and how easy it was to build something we've wanted for years that we subscribed right away to the Starter plan, fearing that the free prototype mode might expire and we would lose the app. We just discovered that we could have used it for free for as long as we needed without subscribing.

My question is, if we are on the Starter plan but the app is still in prototype mode and listed for personal use, will the owner be charged for using the app? Does he need to cancel his subscription to use it for free, and will we lose the app if he does?

Hello - according to Appsheet, for Starter plans, you determine the number of licenses required by counting the total number of unique app users across all of your deployed apps. This makes me believe you will not be charged for prototype apps.

You can also easily change your plan back to the free plan without losing your data by going to the account settings

Thank you very much lynchk21! Changing back to free plan is the best solution to us.
