Reality in Using GPS

I am at the low end of the beginner classification. I have ideas, and I'm turning to Appsheet documentation and tutorials as a source of trying to determine if my goals are practical, or just dreams. Once concept I'm thinking may be useful in my app, possibly a core component of it, is this.

Is there a way that AppSheet can monitor and report on a user's time passing a particular point on a mapped route? For example, report at what time the user crossed geopoint1, the start of a leg of a path, and then report the time the user crosses the end of that path leg, geopoint2? I'm thinking automated, but could consider manually "checking in", however, with so many legs in a particular path, this could become cumbersome for the user.

No looking for a solution, but advice perhaps on whether it's within AppSheet's ability, and if it is, what components and resources of Appsheet should I study as I embark on something like this.

AppSheet is not made for this, although users can log their location when interacting with the app.

So no auto-gps or real-time gps location

OK, thank you! So nothing auto, but what I'm interpreting is that they can log their position. So, at geopoint1, a push of a button perhaps could log their coordinates? And Time?
