Snapshot not working for in-app expressions or document templates

Iโ€™ve been trying to use the snapshot feature for a while now and it has NEVER worked. Iโ€™ve looked at all the other posts and guides but it wonโ€™t generate the image in documents or in the app view. Iโ€™ve tried linktoview() and linktofiltered view() but it doesnโ€™t show up and when I test the formula it always times out.

I really need this feature for what Iโ€™m doing. Is there any other way or suggestions to get this working? I have wasted hours trying to figure this out.

All Iโ€™m trying to do is take a screenshot of a map view in this attempt.
