Unable to Add or Modify Google Chat Spaces in Automation

Hi everyone,

We’ve been using an AppSheet app integrated with Google Chat for several months now without any issues. The automation has been working perfectly — messages were sent to the correct Google Chat spaces as expected.

However, starting last week, we encountered a problem: we can no longer add new automations or modify existing ones that involve sending messages to Google Chat. Specifically, when we try to change the Chat space or add a new one, we get the following message:

“You need to add your Chat app to a Google Chat space before you can send a chat message to a specific space.”

This is confusing because the Chat app has already been added to the relevant spaces and has been functioning properly until now. We haven’t made any changes to the Chat app or permissions recently.

Because of this issue, we are currently unable to update or create any new Chat-related automations. Could someone clarify what might be causing this? Has there been a recent change in how AppSheet handles Google Chat integrations?

Any insight or workaround would be greatly appreciated.
