Is AppSheet GCC for newbies?

I just want to open a little conversation around here

I know I've been very critical to this new platform and I still feel the same.
Lately I've been thinking about an idea that's stuck in my head.

Is it me or this new community seems like a welcome place to new users?

I mean, I know that a community is there to help but for some reason I feel like this a home for less advance users.

Something inside me tells me that helping each other is harder than ever here in comparison to Discourse. It's like here a (let's call it that way) pro-user is foreign while new users are on their zone. Discourse was the other way around, a place where pro-users work and newbies can ask when needed.

I mean, all of this may be obvious for some but I think that if it's something we can tell, then it's already a failure, right? We can tell that this was a needed step in order to start calling new users to the platform (for Google at least). We can expect a lot more Ads talking about AppSheet now that this big part of the platform (the community) is on a Google product.

I don't want to keep pushing the idea of how bad I think this is, instead I'm just sharing my feeling after almost a month here and I'm curious if I'm not alone.

At the same time I feel like the once interesting option/idea of having an unofficial community was kind of funny, now it feels more and more like a necesity for me. Some of the things that made my journey more productive are now gone.

We need a place to share ideas and kinda hangout appart from this newcomers community.

Even though you may not be on the same page as what's told here, you are welcome to tell your experience/opinion about it with respect

I don't think I see a difference in the target community. I do feel the interface is less friendly to all users, but that power users are disadvantaged more. Discourse was easy to use; this platform takes quite a bit more effort.

Right, it's not that fun anymore from my pov. I'm closer to a verdict about my future here

Our goal is to create a single community space where all AppSheet users can connect, learn, grow, make connections, etc., but I think you raise a good point about the need for different areas for different personas (e.g. Powerusers, Newbies, etc.) While I can't roll back the migration, I think that we can (eventually) address a number of these concerns... More to come, but I think we're on the same page. Stay tuned!
