Hello,
A couple of months ago, I received an email stating that suspicious activity was detected in one of my Google Cloud projects, flagged as crypto mining. The only detail provided was that an instance was connecting to a remote machine on port 8080. This connection might have been to a Solr instance I own, which is unrelated to any crypto mining activity.
I have repeatedly tried to appeal the suspension, but I keep receiving the same automated response without any meaningful feedback or interaction with a support representative.
Despite this, billing for my account continues, and I am being charged for a service I cannot access or use. I have also tried reaching out to billing support, but I received another automated response stating that no fraudulent charges were detected on my billing account.
At this point, I cannot use my Google Cloud services, I am unable to get details or clarification about the suspension, and I am still being billed without any way to stop it.
Is there any other way to get in touch with someone at Google who can help me resolve this issue?
Thank you,
Hi @alexiraola,
Welcome to Google Cloud Community.
I'm sorry to hear that one of your Google Cloud projects was flagged for suspension due to the reasons you described above including the current impact you had for your billing. I understand that your first attempts in filing an appeal and contacting the Cloud Billing support didn't yield to the desired outcome for your project.
For the Cloud Project suspension, unfortunately, the only way to get this matter addressed is by filing an appeal as stated in the Policy Violations FAQ while ensuring that the instructions in the email from google-cloud-compliance@google.com are followed. The Google Cloud team handling project suspensions are the only ones that can directly walk you through for this issue.
Same thing for concerns related to Google Cloud billing -- the Google Cloud billing support is the only applicable team to reach out to as they have the proper tools and visibility for the current status of your billing account.
Alternatively, to get an in-depth support for this matter, the next option here would be reaching out via Google Cloud Customer Care.
I hope the information given above is helpful.
Thank you for your response @KyleMari.
I understand the process outlined in the Policy Violations FAQ and have already followed the instructions in the email from google-cloud-compliance@google.com, including submitting multiple appeals. However, I keep receiving the same automated responses without any details or interaction with a human representative.
Additionally, while I continue to get billed for a service I cannot access, Google Cloud Billing Support has provided no resolution, and I’m unable to stop or address the charges while my account remains suspended.
Given the situation, I’ve tried every channel suggested without success. Could you confirm if there are any further options available for escalation or resolving this issue with a live support agent?
I appreciate your help.
I have the same problem. Crypto mining activities detected 🙂 On my non-GPU server 🙂 No one ever responds. We have been at the mercy of Google for over 28 hours now with no data backups.
There are 2 servers in the project. One is the breached server. The non-breached server was suspended. There should be a sanction for this.
