oAuth Consent Screen verification in progress for 11 weeks... What to do?!

Hey there,

we have a custom oAuth Consent Screen in verification since Mid December 2024...
Is is configured to access only non-sensitive information and is only under verification for Brand Design reasons.

Who and how to contact someone?! We do not have nor require paid Google Support... But I do not see any other way to contact someone who could actually help.

That's the Verification Status screen:

The AI support told me that the usual review time of Brand Screens should be 2-3 days... Good Joke...

Can anyone around here help?

Thanks,
Jan

After this obvious fu** up on Googles side and no process to ping someone about it, we decided to simply create a new Project and create a new Consent Screen (with 100% identical configuration) in there. And passed that one to Brand Review.

It got reviewed within 2 hours...

Hi @JanThiel

Welcome to Google Cloud Community!

Unfortunately, If you are using the free tier on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) you cannot access direct support. Double-check if your OAuth Consent Screen meets Google's requirements, even if it’s only requesting non-sensitive data, sometimes verification delays happen because certain design or content elements on the consent screen don't meet Google's guidelines.

Apps that request access to scopes categorized as sensitive or restricted must complete Google's OAuth app verification before being granted access. A complete list of Google APIs and their corresponding scopes can be found in the OAuth 2.0 Scopes for Google APIs. When you add scopes to your project, scope categories (non-sensitive, sensitive, or restricted) are indicated automatically in the Google Cloud Console.

If your app utilizes only non-sensitive scopes, it is not mandatory for your app to complete the app verification process. However, if you want your app to display an app name and logo on the OAuth consent screen, you will need to complete a lighter-weight verification process known as "brand-verification".

For detailed information on the specific verification requirements for sensitive and restricted scopes, please refer to the verification requirements section and OAuth App Verification Help Center.

Hi @JuatonCJ ,

thanks for getting back to me. Sadly your generic response is no help at all.
The "Review progress" is all good as you can see on the Screenshot. As written, it's just for Brand Verification. We followed the Guidelines and expect some information if something is missing.

So to conclude: The process in intransparent and we are fuc*** up because we cannot reach anyone or ask anyone what's the actual problem is and the process is most probably just stuck somewhere. But we are unable to do anything to solve it. Right?! ... wow.
