This may not be the bext place but nothing really looked better and this is specific to BQ. I don't see a billing related forum.
I am a long time user of BQ at work but I am doing this at home. I was using the sandbox and needed to add some data. I enabled the 90 day free trial. I turned on billing for my project and that shows green.
When I create a table with a create as select, I get the table and no data. So I pulled the query out and turned it into an insert. The insert shows as valid but when I try to run it, I get:
"Billing has not been enabled for this project. Enable billing at https://console.cloud.google.com/billing. DML queries are not allowed in the free tier. Set up a billing account to remove this restriction."
It has been enabled and shows green in the billing dashboard. The project I am using is a valid project for the billing account.
I am guessing maybe I need to do something else but I am not sure what. I asked Gemini (really cool feature) if it should work on the free trial. It said it should and walked me thru some checks. All were correct so it suggested here to open a ticket or a post the community forums. Here I am. ;-)
So, any ideas? Do I need to do some additional configuration? I am in the project with billing enabled. Triple checked that.
Is this a known issue? Or, possibly, it is not supposed to work on the free trial (but that would kind of make the free trial pointless).
