Currently, for mysql columns where no input is required (nullable), AppSheet automatically applies an initial value of Null to the column unless otherwise specified. This is problematic because it is not respecting the intention of a Null, it's just tying the word "Null". Appsheet date fields, for example, raise a validation error for a null value. Text columns apply the word "Null" as a text value for the column, which looks pretty odd and doesn't save the column as empty, as intended. Each column type respect the intention of Null. For text fields, the field should appear blank when the initial value is null. should For date fields, , if the field is left blank, it should return a null value, not a validation error. Etc.
