Do VMs get deleted when the creator's account is terminated?

I am an owner of a GCP project that contains VMs that were created by a collaborator who was using a free-trial GCP account. Their free trial is going to end soon and they have no intention of activating a full account. They received an email from Google advising them:

"Time has run out, and your free trial is over. After 30 days, your work may be deleted. Activate your full account now to keep what you built and gain full access to Google Cloud."

So my question is what will happen to the VMs they created inside my GCP project?

Hi,

It's all about billing account. If your project is using billing account which is not free-trial now, your VMs should be save. However, if your project and all resources were build with free-tier billing account option, and billing account has not been "transformed" into normal account, once trial is end, your resources and entire project will be deleted. You can ask billing team[1] directly about your case to be sure.
