Google Workspace Admin FAQs: User management

Earlier this year, the Google Workspace Team hosted a series of “Meet the Expert” webinars designed to help Google Workspace admins make the most of your account and set your organization up for success.

This session focused on how to manage users for your Google Workspace account. The experts covered how to:
  • Add a user to Google Workspace
  • Manage users in the Admin Console
  • View and restore a recently deleted user
  • Add and update users in bulk
  • Download user files to validate updates
  • Transfer unmanaged users to Google Workspace
In case you missed it, no worries! We’ve documented all the questions and answers that were covered during the session for easy reference.

If you have any questions that are not addressed here, please comment directly below and our team (or someone from the Community) can help you out. Plus, follow @AskWorkspace on Twitter to receive timely support and quick self-help tips.

Notification bell

We are thrilled to announce the immediate availability of the Notification Bell! With the Notification Bell, we hope to provide you with quicker access to your latest notifications without having to go to the notifications page every time.

The Notification Bell can be found directly to the left of your profile picture on the top right corner of the screen. As you navigate through the Community, you’ll be alerted to any new notifications via the red circle and number over the bell icon as shown in the image below.

For more details on the Notification Bell, please review the announcement post.

New gallery view for the Workspace Community blog

We've updated the format of the Workspace Community blog so you can see up to nine articles on a page in a gallery view, whereas previously you could only see three articles until you had to click to load the next page.

Have a topic you want our experts to cover in a Community blog? Let us know in the comments!

Help text for preference options

Within “My Settings>Preferences>Preference Options,” added a hover over icon that provides help text to explain the impact of enabling or adjusting the various options.

Solution accepted notifications

When there were multiple replies on a topic and only one was marked as a solution, each user that had a reply was getting a notification that their reply was marked as a solution. This has been fixed so only the person who commented with the accepted solution receives that notification.

For more information, see the June Release Notes post here.

We hope you enjoy our new feature updates and thank you to all our Community members who continue to make this space an engaging and informative place to be. If you have any feedback, please feel free to add your thoughts to the Community Feedback forum here or add a comment directly to this post.
