I run two seperate businesses under seperate google workspaces with their own domain and personal email. Both domains and G workspaces were started through square space. Business 2 is still in development and is going through a rebrand and I have purchased a new domain for this. The google workspace used for this has been cancelled. For Business 1, I have just bought a new domain which I plan to use as my primary domain for a new email and website (Currently building new website ). I have read online that due to my original domain and G workspace being purchased through square space that I cannot change the primary domain to my new domain. I have read a lot on secondary domains and alias domains however am still not confident in doing the process by myself. Business 1 is 90% of my work and I need to be able to redirect all my incoming emails to my new domain and email. Ideally I would like to remove my original domain when the process is complete so I do not have to keep paying for it and have my new domain as the primary but if it there is no option to do this then so be it, I will still need to set up my new domain either as a secondary or alias so it can appear on my new emails and website moving forward. As for business 2, I will be starting with a fresh domain, email and website. So I will like this to have its own email box seperate from business 1. However am unsure if secondary or alias domains will work best for business 2.
Thanks
If it helps any, here's the difference between an alias domain and a secondary domain. If we assume your first domain is example1.com, and your second domain is example2.com:
In your case, it sounds like you might want a secondary domain, not an alias domain.
Hope that helps,
