Workspace accounts with Android Auto OS

Currently Workspace accounts don’t work with Android Auto. This means that workspace users can not connect to a vehicle with embedded Android Auto. More and more vehicles have this enabled now (https://www.android.com/intl/en_au/auto/compatibility/). Currently businesses providing fleet vehicles to employees need to ask those employees to get a free Gmail account in order to connect to their vehicle!!  This means users can’t take advantage of the benefits of their workspace account being active in their vehicle. Please work with Android Auto to enable AAOS to work with Google Workspace accounts.

Same here and it's too late to move given the weight of apps and purchases we have.

I exported the contacts from my Google Workspace and imported them to my regular Gmail account created for the car. At least I can call them with voice activation. I'm looking to automate this process, although they don't change very frequently.

I'm more bothered about Youtube Music (I pay for Premium). All my library, playlists, mixes,... are in my Google Workspace account. I really wanted to use it in the car easily. Now I have to connect my phone and use Android Auto for the music. Duh!

Can anyone recommend a place to follow for possible updates on this?

Thinking something like some hypothetical "AAOS Beta Testing" or "AAOS Release" threads or really anything.

You might want to have a look in the NDAed product roadmaps to see if there’s anything there about this. See

https://www.googlecloudcommunity.com/gc/custom/page/page-id/Workspace-Roadmap-FAQ

for how to request access.

Note: This section of GCC is public, so items that you may see on the roadmap should not be discussed here, as that would violate the NDA.

Hope that helps,

Ian
