Clarification on Monthly Usage Limits and Notification Setup for Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise

I am currently using Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise.

As I understand, up to 10,000 assessments are free with the Essentials tier. Is this usage calculated based on the calendar month (from the 1st to the end of each month), or does it count a month from the day reCAPTCHA Enterprise was first used?

Additionally, I would like to set up notifications if the reCAPTCHA assessment count exceeds a certain threshold within a month. Is this possible, and if so, could you provide guidance on how to configure it?

Hi!

It is from the 1st of the month until month end.

As for how to monitor it - you can create an alert based on API usage. Here's a link to a detailed article with screenshots my colleague Cory wrote -

Just note, as you are using essentials just change "rate" to "count" in the example.
Feel free to reply here if you have more questions on this.

Thank you for the response. It seems that using an alert policy will require using the Observability Monitoring product. Could you let me know how the pricing works for this?

Also, will there be a cost associated with budget overrun notifications?
