Add and Edit button dissapeared from form view

Hi, appsheet newbie here. Working on my 1st appsheet and the add and edit button somehow dissapear from the form page. Don't know what I did wrong.

Try the add/edit in the action section and click through all the prominence option but nothing appears. Also try searching the net for answers but cannot find anything :'(

1) Your Add action shouldn't have any conditions under "Behaviour", unless you really want that.

2) The "Action bar" is what is shown inside each tile of the Deck view, you generally don't want Add in there.

3) Check your Job table config, maybe you made it Read only

Hi @naea07

Add and Edit buttons are the way to open Form views.

Form views cannot have any action button ๐Ÿ™‚

For reference:

Form view type - AppSheet Help

Customize input forms - AppSheet Help

Hi, thanks for the reply. Still a little confused. When i tried the other template there is this add and edit button (may be i have phrased my question wrongly.)

Before, the add and edit button was on the appsheet but whilst i was working on it, i just went missing so now i cannot add any new task or edit the old ones.

Hi @naea07

Yes, there is a confusion ๐Ÿ™‚

The first screenshot is a deck view type, which means you have a set of records. In this kind of view, you have a "Add" button.

The same happens with Table view type, map, gallery for example.

The specifics of a deck view type is that you can display actions that apply to one record at a time, such as Edit or Delete in your case.

The second screenshot is a Detail view type, which mean you see the details of ONE record, and not a set of records. Here, the Edit button is displayed prominently. The Delete button is in the top-bar.

But you won't have the "Add" button, because it can't be displayed on a detail view type.

I hope my explanation make sense?

Hi @Aurelien

Thanks again for your answer, but i guess i wasnt making myself clear (sorry, please bear with me and really thank you for your patience)

The previous pictures was examples when the add and edit button was on. The problem that im experiencing is that the add button on the deck view type and the edit button on the detail view type is now gone.

This is my current view.

Hi @naea07

You should have an option for this deck view for displaying the action bar ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, @Aurelien not too sure how to display the action bar, is it possible to provide a detailed instruction? Attached is what I have tried but both didn't work. 1678811351523.jpg1678811312584.jpg

@SkrOYC OMG thank you so much! Can't believe I somehow managed to change it to read only without realizing ๐Ÿ™‚
