I am sending an email to support on this - I am having the same issue

I haven't sent an email to support as you now have to go through an online web portal - I need to get some proper work done, so will check back in a but and see if it has sorted itself.

solved now, can anyone confirm the same?

AppSheet experienced rate limiting from the Sheets API from 12:30am-2:30 am Pacific. Apps backed by data in Sheets were seeing errors during this time. The issue has now been resolved. We were unable to post this incident to Cloud Status this morning. Better external comms will discussed as part of our internal postmortem process. I sincerely apologize for the disruption.

@Jana_Mandic
Regarding the recent outage, is your comment the final/only official announcement from Google? Also, will it be posted here on this site?

https://status.cloud.google.com/products/FWjKi5U7KX4FUUPThHAJ/history

For RCA, the root cause was a Google Sheets automated cleanup change that incorrectly removed an active internal configuration flag (an in-use experiment flag). This led to failures within the underlying Decoupled Docs storage system which AppSheet apps use if their data is stored in Sheets. The Sheets team took corrective action and service was restored at 2:30 am PST.

As to Cloud Status updates, this incident will not be getting posted there, but I recognize that this is a gap for us to address and it will be addressed as part of the postmortem.

Thank you @Jana_Mandic
I will take your comments as the final failure response announcement on this issue and will explain it to the end users.

Also, you guys have considered it as an issue, communication with end-users is a point that App Creator has been anxious about for a long time.

Even if there is a great update in Google Next, if the failure response is poor, potential citizen developers will not be willing to use it.
I really hope that this will be remedied as soon as possible.

And just to add for the record, I believe that outages are inevitable with a widely deployed cloud-based service such as AppSheet.
The problem I find is that Google's reporting of the outages is very poor.

We recognize that the Cloud Status dashboard has not been kept up to date during recent incidents and we're actively looking at updating our incident management processes to ensure that you have a reliable way of assessing AppSheet service status.
