Can't create folder on Google Drive

I've been using Google Drive for a couple years for our office and hadn't had this problem previously. I'm using Drive for Desktop and when I try to create a new folder in my main drive (G:\Other computers\COLLABO Drive\) it gives me the following error:

An unexpected error is keeping you from creating the folder. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with the problem.

Error 0x80070522: A required privilege is not held by the client

This doesn't happen when I create a new folder within any of the current folders I have on the drive, just on the main folder. The same error happens if I try to copy a file to this main folder. I haven't been able to do it through my browser on Google Drive either.

Seems to be a permission error of some kind. Anyone have a clue here?

I switched to a new computer about 4 months ago, which may be when this issue happened. Is my Google Drive somehow tied to my old PC?

Thanks!

A lot of questions arise after reading your post. Too many to ask here.

I will assume that when say "G:\Other computers\COLLABO Drive\", you actually mean "G:\Computers\COLLABO Drive\".

If that's the case, I'll assume that you are trying to create new content in a folder that used to sync with an old computer, so I'd say this is the expected behavior, as you can't sync to that computer anymore.

If my assumptions are correct, you can resolve the issue by moving everything to your "My Drive" to avoid having those folders linked to an old device.

In any case, if my assumptions are wrong, we can help (free of charge) if you reach out to me directly. We can have a quick Google Meet call to troubleshoot this. You can email me directly to <PII  removed by staff> (this is a temporary email, valid for the next 7 days).

Best regards,

Nuno
