Cancelling an event on Google Calendar not triggering email to guest

Hi all,

Issue #1: A few of the users in my org are experiencing cancelling an event on Google Calendar and not getting the prompt to email guests of the cancellation. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this, or knows how to fix this issue.

My guess is that they are not listed as organizers or owners, but they are saying they are the "hosts" of the events.

Issue #2: They are also noting that when they do get prompted to email guests, the emails are not going through. I am seeing that if the guests have notifications turned off they will not get any updates, cancelations or otherwise.

Any insights on Issue #1 would be helpful and appreciated!!

Hey @dkhotsom

Issue 1: When the event organizer is cancelling the event (by deleting it from the calendar) or modifying the event (e.g. changing the date) they are presented with the option that allows to communicate with the end users (as below). This can be ignored, or when the user uses the 3th party app to manage their calendars this feature might work differently.

If one of the attendees responds 'No' to an event, then similarly the organizer is getting notification.

Issue 2: Notifications are controlled on per specific calendar level - the user might have access to multiple secondary calendars, and they can decide which notifications they want to get, and how:

Hope this helps,
Have a great day,
Marcin
